U-14 Hurling Vs Grennan

Date 9/3/16

Colaiste Eamann Ris traveled to Thomastown GAA grounds to play their last league game against Grennan College. In what could be described as a game of two halves Callan took the lead in the first half with the aid of a gale force wind. A series of points from Darragh Bergin, Scott lawlor and Craig Cahill  had Callan ahead at half time on a scoreline of 0-11 to 0-1.  Grennan started the second half the quickest by firing home a goal and a come back seemed to be on the cards. The Callan response however was excellent with Craig Cahill hitting the net after a long winding run  from midfield. Grennan College showed great heart and determination in the second half scoring three further goals and Callan had their work cut out maintaing the lead built up in the first half. Adrian McLawerence nullified the Grennan response by scoring two goals in quick succession from full forward. Additional points from man of the match Darragh Bergin pushed Callan over the finish line on a scoreline of Colaiste Eamann Ris 3-15 Grennan College 4-3.

Scorers: Darragh Bergin 0-8, Craig Cahill 1-2, Adrian McLawerence 2-0, Mikey Wallace 0-3, Scott Lawlor 0-2
