Our transition year students school term for 2020 came to an end with their graduation ceremony which was held on Friday 15-5-20. The students and TY co-ordinator Mr.Murtagh were congratulated for their efforts throughout the year, one which consisted of many valuable experiences for the students.
There was two main awards presented on the night, The Brother Damien Award and the Academic Award.
Created to honour the memory of our great former Principal,. The Brother Damien Award was presented to Ben Fitzpatrick. This award is given to the most all-round outstanding student in TY. The student has displayed similar qualities to that of Brother Damien Brennan; Kindness, Honestly, Looking out for others, doing their best, not being afraid to be themselves, the courage to stand up for “Who they are, What they are and Where they come from”.
Our Academic Award highlights the student that continuously excels in the classroom over a number of subjects in the school. This person not only has the talent but has combined his ability with determination, a good work-ethic and diligence to achieve their goals. The Academic Award was presented to Julian Korenko.
Congratulations to our award winners and all students who participated in Transition Year and we look forward to seeing them progress into 5th year.
