I wish to draw your attention to a number of upcoming webinars for parents of students who are at Very High Risk (VHR) to COVID-19.

ESCI Seesaw for Parents of Learners who are at Very High Risk to COVID-19

As part of our supports for schools who have learners who are at Very High Risk to COVID-19, ESCI, the network of Education Centres, has organised the first of a series of webinars to support parents in their role. This webinar is taking place next Wednesday 21^st October 2020 at 7p.m.

If your school has learners who are not attending school because they are at Very High Risk to COVID-19 and you use Seesaw, parents of those learners in your school will benefit from this webinar specifically for them. The details for same are as follows;

This webinar aims to provide parents with a comprehensive understanding of Seesaw, an online learning platform that many schools use to share resources and activities with their students. The topics covered in this webinar include:

·         Getting Seesaw and adding a child/children using information provided by the school,

·         An explanation of Seesaw, how it can be used by teachers and how children respond,

·         A demonstration of the Creative Tools used in Seesaw,

·         Using the Seesaw Messages feature (if enabled by schools).

Parents will see how Seesaw works from both a Teacher’s viewpoint and a student’s viewpoint, and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions during the webinar.

Kilkenny Education Centre Webinars for Parents of Very High Risk (VHR) Students

Locally, Kilkenny Education Centre has organised two webinars for parents of students at Very High Risk (VHR) to COVID-19. The first of these webinars is Health and Wellbeing of Very High Risk (VHR) Students, which is taking place next Monday 19^th October 2020at 7p.m. This webinar, for both parents and teachers, will look at possible impacts the current school year is having on Very High Risk (VHR) students and their families. The second of these webinars is Communicating with Schools for Parents of Very High Risk (VHR) Students, which is taking place on Monday 16^th November 2020 at 7p.m.This webinar is specifically for parents of students who miss all or a lot of class tuition time because they are at Very High Risk (VHR) to COVID-19.
